Actor Vince Vaughn (Swingers, Wedding Crashers) weighed in on the controversy surrounding the preview trailer for his new movie The Dilemma.  The Trailer was pulled from theaters due to Vaughn’s use of the word “gay” in describing electric cars.  Universal pulled the trailer from theaters after numerous complaints from The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).  Vaughn, on the other hand, isn’t backing down so easy.  “I think pulling the trailer from theaters is super gay,” Vaughn told Ninja Satire reporters,  “and I mean gay like how my agent forced me to do Fred Claus kind of gay.”

For its part, GLAAD continues to campaign against the film and its use of the word in a derogatory manner.  “As far as we are concerned, anytime somebody uses the word gay, or queer, they are undoubtedly referring to our community as a whole,” said GLAAD spokesman Richard Wilcox.  “Using those words to describe something negative paints our community in a negative light.  Our mission is to change the acceptability of using those words in that manner.”

This is the second Vaughn film in a row to cause controversy.  His last film, Couples Retreat, caused a stir when an edited version of the movie poster without the movie’s black actors on it was distributed in the UK, to which Vaughn said, “man that sh*t is whack.”
