The 4th installment of the series, entitled Back to the Future IV: The Search for a Cure, finds an older Marty Mcfly travelling into the future in hopes of finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.  According to a rough treatment of the script obtained by Ninja Satire, Marty has been diagnosed with the debilitating disease, sending him, his wife Jennifer (Elizabeth Shue, rumoured), and Doctor Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) on a wild journey through time in hopes of finding the cure that will help save his life.

A release date has not yet been set, however, there are rumours that Eric Stoltz (who was famously cut from the original movie after five weeks of filming and replaced with Fox) had been considered for the part before Fox agreed to reprise the famous role.

Fox’s participation in the film hinged on the studio promising to donate a large portion of the ticket sales to his foundation.  “A real cure will not be found up on the movie screen,” Fox said, “it will be discovered by the men and women who work tirelessly in laboratories around the world…they need our help.”

Film critics seem unified in their uncertainty as it pertains to Fox’s ability to pull off a performance in a major motion picture at this stage in his illness.  However, one critic told Ninja Satire that Fox’s guest appearance on a network sitcom last month was, “shaky, at best.”
